Case Study 1: Innovation Delivers Cost Savings.
Situation
A major mass merchant was purchasing refrigerated merchandisers complete with the OEM ticket molding. Not only was chain-wide expenditure for this ‘accessory’ staggering, but the ticket molding did not provide much needed functionality - definitely not the ‘best of any world’. There had to be a better way!
Solution
The kostklip engineering team designed the 127T ClearVision® ticket molding suitable for refrigerated merchandisers that clipped directly onto the bare OEM shelf edge.
Result
The customer didn't have to order the expensive OEM moldings any longer. The net savings on a multi-store rollout was more than $600,000, and the new moldings provided the benefits of ClearVision® such as ticket protection, easy price changes, ability to clip-in shelf edge promotional signage like ShelfTalkers™.
Case Study 2: Consolidate to Cut Costs.
Situation
An RFP for deli department sign holders was sent out to kostklip® and several other retail fixture manufacturers. The RFP listed 33 parts that included images of incumbent products with specific requirements and functionality. Kostklip® looked at the requirements with the goal of delivering innovation and efficiency.
Solution
Kostklip® took advantage of the ‘Alternatives’ submission capability in the RFP. Our team reduced the 33 part requirement down to only 11 interchangeable sign holder and sleeve parts while still meeting the design and functionality requirements. The solution provided maximum flexibility to communicate with the customer at the shelf edge, with a more consistent and unified brand message across all departments. The net result was an 80% sign holder part reduction across the organization!
Result
The customer, one of the largest grocery retailers in the world, drastically reduced their costs on signage fixtures. They achieved operational efficiencies with fewer parts to manage both at national and store level, and experienced high store-level program adoption rates because the program was easier and more efficient.
